Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has been named the Best Member of Parliament in Kenya at the 2026 Politrack StarLeaders Awards, in recognition of his performance, leadership, and sustained connection with constituents.
The awards ceremony, held at the Serena Hotel Nairobi, brought together a cross-section of political leaders, policymakers, and governance stakeholders to celebrate individuals demonstrating impactful leadership and public service.
Babu Owino’s top honour placed him among the country’s standout legislators, reinforcing his growing influence in Kenya’s political space.
Upon receiving the award, the MP dedicated the recognition to the people of Embakasi East, crediting them for their continued trust and support.
“This achievement is not mine alone, it belongs to the people I serve, whose trust and support continue to inspire my work every day,” he said.
He noted that his performance track record reflects a shared commitment to progress, accountability, and meaningful service delivery.

In his remarks to the media after the ceremony, Babu Owino offered insight into the consistency behind his repeated recognition, attributing it to a leadership approach grounded in direct engagement with wananchi and responsiveness to their needs.
He explained that accessibility, hands-on involvement in community issues, and a strong focus on delivering results have defined his tenure.
“The reason I keep earning recognition is because I listen to the people and act on their needs without delay,” he said.
“When leadership is about service, results will always speak for themselves.”
The legislator emphasized that leadership should not be measured by titles or power, but by the ability to positively impact lives.
“Leadership is not about titles, power, or positions, it is about service. And I will continue to serve with integrity, humility, and unwavering focus on the people,” he stated.
His recognition as Best Member of Parliament adds to his profile as a vocal advocate for effective governance and people-centered leadership, particularly among the youth.
