Jubilee Intensifies 2027 Campaign Preparations as Tana River Leaders Join Party

The Jubilee Party has stepped up its preparations for the 2027 General Election after formally welcoming a delegation of leaders and aspirants from Tana River County, while unveiling a nationwide strategy aimed at strengthening its grassroots structures and expanding its political presence.

Addressing the media in Nairobi after meeting Jubilee officials, branch leaders and aspirants from Tana River, the party's Secretary General Richard Moitalel Ole Kenta reaffirmed Jubilee's commitment to peace, national unity and inclusive leadership, urging political leaders to avoid divisive politics and embrace responsible leadership.

"Jubilee is a national party that belongs to every Kenyan regardless of their background. We are committed to promoting peace, respecting the dignity of every citizen and ensuring politics does not divide the country along ethnic or political lines," Ole Kenta said.

He condemned inflammatory political statements that could fuel hatred, calling on investigative and prosecutorial agencies to take action against individuals who incite violence. He cautioned that Kenya must learn from the 2007 post-election violence and similar conflicts witnessed elsewhere, saying leaders have a responsibility to safeguard peace and national cohesion.

"We must never allow our country to return to such a path. Kenya belongs to all of us and future generations, and every leader, whether in government or the opposition, has a duty to promote peace and national unity," he added.

Ole Kenta also revealed that Jubilee is actively engaging other like-minded political parties under the United Opposition, saying the coalition seeks to provide alternative leadership capable of addressing key national challenges, including the high cost of living, unemployment, heavy taxation, education concerns and other socio-economic issues.

He appealed to Kenyans to support the party, maintaining that Jubilee remains committed to protecting peace, strengthening democracy and preserving national unity as the country heads toward the 2027 General Election.

Jubilee National Chairperson Vincent Mogaka Kemosi said the meeting followed a two-day National Executive Committee (NEC) retreat held in Karen, during which the party adopted a one-year roadmap to guide its political activities ahead of the elections.

Kemosi announced that the party had officially admitted leaders from Tana River into Jubilee, saying they had pledged to champion the party's agenda across the Coast region.

"We have had fruitful discussions with leaders from Tana River and have officially welcomed them into the Jubilee Party. They have committed themselves to advancing our agenda in the Coast region as we implement our roadmap toward the 2027 General Election," he said.

He noted that the meeting was attended by Jubilee Deputy Party Leader and presidential candidate Dr Fred Okengo Matiang'i, who later left for another engagement after meeting the delegation.

According to Kemosi, the party also welcomed several former members of ANC and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) from Tana River, describing their move as a sign of growing confidence in Jubilee's leadership.

He further disclosed that Jubilee will begin regional campaign tours within the next three weeks, starting with a two-day visit to Tana River before extending similar engagements to other parts of the country. The implementation of the party's campaign roadmap, he said, will be reviewed every month.

Kemosi reiterated that Jubilee intends to field candidates in every elective position across the country under the leadership of its presidential candidate, Dr Fred Okengo Matiang'i.

"We are ready for the elections and Jubilee will field candidates in all elective positions across the country, from Members of County Assembly to the presidency," he said.

He added that the party plans to contest all 1,450 MCA seats, 290 parliamentary constituencies, 47 senatorial positions, 47 women representative seats and 47 gubernatorial seats, expressing confidence that Jubilee will continue attracting more leaders from across the country.

The recruitment of the Tana River leaders, he said, forms part of Jubilee's broader strategy to strengthen its grassroots networks and expand its national presence ahead of the 2027 General Election.
