Dr. Joseph Murimi, the Founder and President of Save a Life Community, has highlighted the organisation’s commitment to transforming lives and supporting vulnerable members of society after it was named Best Excellence of the Year 2026 at the Top Excellence Leadership Awards.
The award, presented by TopSpin Brand Ltd, recognised Save a Life Community for its contribution to community development, humanitarian support and efforts aimed at improving the lives of people facing different social and economic challenges.
Speaking after receiving the recognition, Murimi said the award was a reflection of the collective work of the organisation and the people who continue to support its programmes.
He explained that Save a Life Community was established with the goal of giving hope to people who are often unable to meet their basic needs or access opportunities that can improve their lives.
“We are not just about giving people assistance; we are about giving people hope and transforming their lives,” Murimi said during a media interview after receiving the award.
According to Murimi, the organisation’s work extends beyond providing immediate assistance, with a strong focus on empowering individuals and communities to become self-reliant.
One of the key areas of its work is supporting sick and vulnerable people who face difficulties raising money for medical treatment. The organisation mobilises resources to help patients access treatment, including supporting people requiring complex and minor surgical procedures.
Save a Life Community has also invested in youth empowerment through skills development and training. Its programmes have included training in areas such as photography, videography, filmmaking and computer literacy, giving young people practical skills that can help them pursue employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Murimi has also emphasised the organisation’s work with street-connected children, who are among the most vulnerable members of society. Through intervention and support programmes, Save a Life Community seeks to help such children move away from street life and access opportunities that can enable them to build more stable futures.
Speaking about the motivation behind his humanitarian work, Murimi said: “Service to humanity is service to God, and our responsibility is to stand with those who are vulnerable and give them a chance to live better lives.”
The impact of the organisation has continued to grow over the years. Available information indicates that Save a Life Community has reached more than 100,000 people through various programmes, including feeding vulnerable families, youth empowerment, medical assistance and interventions targeting street children.
Murimi’s humanitarian work has also attracted recognition beyond the latest award. He has previously been recognised for his contribution to humanitarian work, including being honoured as Humanitarian of the Year in 2025.
The latest Top Excellence Leadership Awards recognition therefore adds to a growing list of accolades associated with Murimi and Save a Life Community’s efforts to address social challenges.
For Save a Life Community, the Best Excellence of the Year 2026 award comes at a time when the organisation continues to focus on expanding its reach and creating opportunities for vulnerable communities.
Murimi said the recognition would serve as motivation for the organisation to continue pursuing its mission of transforming lives, restoring hope and empowering communities.
He also called for continued collaboration between individuals, organisations, corporates and other stakeholders, noting that sustainable community transformation requires collective responsibility.
The recognition of Save a Life Community at the Top Excellence Leadership Awards places greater attention on the role of community-based organisations in addressing social challenges and complementing broader efforts to improve the welfare of vulnerable populations.
For Murimi and his team, the award is not only a celebration of past achievements but also a renewed call to continue supporting people in need and creating lasting opportunities for communities across Kenya.
