Odoo brought together some of Kenya’s leading content creators and influencers for an exclusive Influencer Night in Nairobi on Friday 28 as the global business software company stepped up preparations for the first-ever Odoo Experience Africa.

The gathering brought together established and emerging content creators for an evening centred on interaction, networking and entertainment ahead of the major business and technology event scheduled for next week.

Odoo had specifically positioned the gathering as an opportunity to host content creators and influencers, both active and prospective, for networking and interaction ahead of Odoo Experience Africa.

The influencer engagement comes as Odoo prepares to host its first Odoo Experience Africa on September 3 and 4 at Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi.

The two-day event is expected to bring together businesses, entrepreneurs, technology professionals, Odoo users, partners and other members of the open-source software community from across Africa.

According to Odoo, the event will feature more than 100 talks, practical learning sessions, business success stories, workshops and networking opportunities. The programme will also focus on areas including artificial intelligence, enterprise resource planning, digital transformation and business growth.

Odoo has also announced that the event will showcase its latest software release, Odoo 20, alongside more than 70 exhibitors presenting technology and business solutions.

The company says more than 11,000 people from over 70 countries had already confirmed attendance ahead of the event, highlighting the scale of the gathering and its significance for Africa’s growing technology and business ecosystem.

The upcoming event will feature a line-up of speakers from Kenya and across the continent, including technology and entrepreneurship figures such as Professor Bitange Ndemo, Vusi Thembekwayo, Hilda Moraa, Tonee Ndungu, Ali Hussein Kassim and other business and technology experts.

Odoo's Nairobi event is expected to provide businesses with an opportunity to explore how integrated business software can support areas such as accounting, sales, inventory, human resources, customer management and operations.

The company opened its first Africa office in Kenya in 2022 and has since expanded its activities across the continent. One of the sessions at next week's event will specifically examine opportunities for young professionals within Odoo's ecosystem, with the company highlighting opportunities for content creators, recruiters, accountants, HR professionals, developers and IT specialists.

The Influencer Night therefore served as a build-up to the main Odoo Experience Africa event, bringing the creator community into the conversation as Odoo seeks to strengthen awareness of business technology and digital transformation among a wider Kenyan audience.

Odoo Experience Africa will take place on September 3 and 4 at Ngong Racecourse's Waterfront Grounds in Nairobi, with the event expected to attract participants from Kenya and other African countries.
